Terms of sale

These apply to every piece ordered from Tej Macramé Wall Hanging, whether bought on this site or commissioned directly.

1. Orders, quotes and sketches

Every piece is made to order. Nothing is cut or knotted until you have approved a sketch and paid the deposit.
Shop pieces are sold at the price shown on this site for the size you choose. Choosing your own colours does not change the price.
For custom pieces we send a sketch and a written quote before any cord is cut. A quote is valid for 14 days.
The sketch includes one round of changes. Further changes after approval may change the price and the delivery date, and we will confirm both before going ahead.
Prices are in Nigerian naira (NGN). Shipping is quoted separately and added to the price of the piece.

Balance	40% of the piece price, plus shipping	When we tell you the piece is finished, before delivery.

We ship or deliver once the balance has cleared. We do not deliver on credit.
If the balance is not paid within 30 days of our notice that the piece is finished, we may cancel the order, keep the deposit and offer the piece for sale.
Pay by bank transfer to the account on your invoice, using your order reference.

A piece takes three weeks to make, counted from the day the sketch is approved and the deposit is paid.
In busy periods new orders join a queue. We will give you the expected finish date when you order, and tell you straight away if it moves.
We deliver within Lagos, across Nigeria and worldwide. Shipping cost depends on the destination and the courier, and is quoted before you pay the balance.
Every piece is wrapped and boxed before it leaves the studio. Responsibility for the piece passes to you when it is delivered.
For deliveries outside Nigeria, any import duties, taxes or customs fees are paid by the buyer.

On-site consultation and measuring is free anywhere on Lagos Island. If you then abandon the order, we will ask you to cover the cost of the visit.
Outside Lagos Island, send photos of the wall or window with something in frame for scale, and we will size the piece from those.
Your own design: we are happy to make it, and we will sign a non-disclosure agreement if you ask.
Designs from public references (Pinterest, Instagram, or other work you don't own) are made as inspiration, not as your property. We don't sign NDAs for these.
Photos of your piece: we may photograph finished work for our portfolio and social media. Tell us if you'd rather we didn't. Work under an NDA is never shared.

Sizes listed in feet (4 ft, 5 ft and so on) are the width of the piece, not its drop. The drop depends on the design and is shown on the sketch.
Handmade variation: every piece is knotted by hand, so small differences in knots, fringe length and colour from the photographs or sketch are normal, and are not faults. Colours can also look different on screen.
Cancelling before work starts: we refund your deposit, less any visit or material costs already spent on your piece.
Cancelling after work starts: the deposit is not refundable, because the piece is being made for you.
Returns: because each piece is made to order, we don't accept returns for a change of mind.
Damage in transit: tell us within 48 hours of delivery, with photos of the piece and the packaging. We will repair or replace it.
Care: follow the care guide sent with your piece. Damage from washing, wringing or long direct sun is not covered.

We may update these terms. The version in force when you approve your sketch applies to your order.
